Description

Peartree Cottage is a house dating from 1682, with alterations and an extension from the 19th century. The construction is primarily of whitened red sandstone and brick, with a slate roof featuring red ridge tiles, stone copings, and brick gable-end stacks.

The exterior presents a single-storey, three-bay front with a one-bay lean-to extension to the left. A boarded front door is centrally located on the left side, reached by five steps. The windows are two-light flush casements with a central horizontal glazing bar. The added bay includes a larger two-light casement divided into twelve panes. A tablet on the right gable wall bears the initials "J.L., S.l., T'" and the date 1682. There is a brick dentil eaves course.

Inside, exposed ceiling beams and joists are visible.
