Description
Mill Farmhouse and the adjoining farm buildings, along with the boundary wall, date from the mid 18th century, with some stables and a barn from the mid 18th century to early 19th century. The buildings are constructed from dressed stone and feature pantile roofs, some of which are glazed, with stone slate verges. The design includes ashlar reveals and dressings, with coped gables supported by kneelers. There are three gable stacks and two ridge stacks. The farmhouse is arranged in an L-plan and consists of two storeys, with the buildings forming three sides of a yard. The structure is seven bays wide and three bays deep.
The windows are a mix of mullioned leaded casements and 20th-century casements. On the south side of the house, there are three casements on each floor, varying in size. The boundary wall is made of dressed stone with half round coping. The west end of the wall features 20th-century fenestration. The entrance includes an off-centre glazed door, flanked on the left by a bow window and on the right by two casements. Above this, there are three casements, two of which have segmental heads. The east gable of the farmhouse has one casement on each floor.
To the right of the farmhouse, there is a single-storey 20th-century link building with two casements and two glazed doors. The single-storey stable to the left has a 20th-century casement and two pairs of garage doors on the right. The adjoining two-storey stable has two doors on the south side and two hatches above, all with segmental heads. The barn to the west features a pair of central barn doors with an elliptical head, flanked on the left by a round-headed doorway and on the right by a door with a segmental head. Above the barn doors, there is a hatch and four breathers. The south gable of the barn has a casement with a segmental head above it. The east side of the barn includes two 19th-century single-storey additions. The stable adjoining to the west has two stable doors on the north side and a casement in the west gable, all with segmental heads.
