Description
Manor House is a large house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of tooled ashlar stone with raised, V-jointed quoins and a plinth. The building features pantiled roofs with stone copings. The main structure is two stories high and has a five-bay center block, which connects to lower two-story, three-bay end pavilions through one-story, one-bay set-back quadrant links.
The main block has wide steps leading to a central enclosed Tuscan porch, which contains a door with ornamental fielded panels. The windows are replaced sash types set in raised surrounds with projecting cills. The ground floor and the center window on the first floor have triple keystones, with the latter rising into a deep moulded eaves cornice. The eaves are swept, and there are end chimneys with cornices and strings. Large console brackets on either side help transition to the one-bay links. The outer pavilions have similar window details but feature plain six-panel central doors without porches. The right pavilion serves as a kitchen wing. Both pavilions have hipped roofs with central stacks that also have cornices and strings.
Inside, the house boasts good woodwork, including doors with deeply-fielded panels in enriched architraves and a staircase with turned balusters and a ramped handrail. The left pavilion has been converted into a ballroom, likely in the early 20th century.
