Description
Carlton House is an early 19th-century house located in Carlton Village. It features a stucco exterior with boarded eaves and a French tiled roof with stone copings. The building stands three storeys high and has three windows. Access is provided by steps with curved handrails leading to a central six-panel door, which is topped by a patterned overlight and set within a doorcase that includes fluted half columns, a frieze, angle paterae, and a cornice. To the left, there is a large projecting one-storey bow that has three curved sash windows and a parapet. Most windows are 12-pane sashes, except for a 16-pane sash on the ground floor to the right and short six-panel sashes on the top floor. There is a 20th-century two-storey, two-window extension to the right, which is not of special interest.
