Description
The Old Vicarage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with near-contemporary extensions. It is constructed from coursed, squared stone and features raised quoins on the central part. The roof is pantiled, with stone copings and kneelers, and there are brick chimneys. The building has two storeys, with a three-bay central section and slightly set-back one-bay wings. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door set in a keyed, herringbone-tooled flush surround. To the right, there is a late 19th-century canted bay window and a French door at the extreme right. Most of the other windows are 16-pane sashes, with one replaced, while the outer bays on the first floor have 12-pane sashes. The windows in the main block have surrounds similar to the door, but without key blocks. The building features moulded kneelers and has four stone-coped chimneys at the ends of the main block and wings. A red-brick lean-to on the left is not of special interest.
