Description
Primrose Cottage and Rose Cottage are two houses that were originally built as one in the mid-18th century. They are constructed from coursed, tooled squared sandstone sitting on a plinth, topped with a pantiled roof that features stone copings and kneelers. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of three bays in total. The central doors, which are paired and from the 20th century, sit beneath plain lintels. The windows have been replaced with Yorkshire sashes, with three lights in all except for the two-light window at the centre of the first floor. The eaves are adorned with a one-step cornice, and the high-pitched roof is complemented by stepped and corniced end chimneys.
