Description
Bay Bank House and The Cellar is a house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of herringbone-tooled sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof with a stone stack. The building has three storeys and one wide bay facing the road. On the ground floor, there is a stable door on the left and 20th-century shop windows in old openings on the right. The first floor has an 8-pane sash window, with a 6-pane sash window above it. The roof is hipped towards the road, and there is a large stack at the eaves.
The right side of the building is mostly blank, except for a 20th-century glazed door in a small entrance extension that is accessed by eight steps. The left side is the main south front, which has two storeys and a basement with three bays. There are 14 steps leading up to a central half-glazed door that is sheltered by a gabled wooden hood supported by brackets. Flanking this door are 16-pane sash windows on both floors, with a 12-pane sash window at the centre of the first floor. There is a one-bay left extension and a small one-storey returned bay, both of which have modern windows. The left end features a banded chimney.
