Description
America House and the adjoining barn to the west are combined into one dwelling. The house dates from the late 18th century and was refurbished in 1857, as noted on a plaque. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and features a first floor band. The roof is pantiled with stone copings and square kneelers, and there are cornice-banded stone chimneys. The building has two storeys and consists of two sections. The house has two wide bays flanking a staircase bay that includes a large window. The lower cottage section has two windows above and one below, all of which are sash windows, mostly with glazing bars. There is a small end pentice, and the barn extension to the west is made from similar materials.
