Description
High Rough is a house from the late 18th century, with an attached barn from the mid-19th century. The house is built from hammer-dressed stone and has a stone slate roof, while the barn has an asbestos roof. The building is two storeys high and features quoins. It consists of two cells, each with flat-faced mullioned windows. The first cell has a doorway with monolithic jambs next to a four-light window that includes three fixed lights and one sash window. Above this, there is a two-light window. The second cell has a two-light window, with one fixed light and one sash window, and a matching window above it. There is a clear break at the division between the house and the barn, which has a segmental arched cart entry with a raised keystone and impost blocks, as well as a circular ventilator above. The building has coped gables with moulded kneelers and a single stack at the ridge.
