Description

Dean House and two attached barns date to the late 18th century, with later 19th-century barn additions. The buildings are constructed of rubble stone, brought to course, and have stone slate roofs. The two-storey front facade features a five-light mullioned window and a doorway with monolithic jambs to one cottage, with a four-light window above. The other cottage has a four-light window with a matching window above, though some mullions have been removed. Each cottage has a stack. A later barn was built onto the left-hand end, featuring a tall, semi-circular arched-headed entry with a projecting keystone and a mistal entry with monolithic jambs. It has a coped gable. A rear barn, built at right angles to the house range, has a similar arched-headed entry and another square-headed entry contemporary with the house.
