Description
New House Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from thin coursed hammer dressed stone with ashlar quoins and features a stone slate roof. The building has a three-room linear plan and stands two storeys high with a plinth.
The windows are all double chamfered mullioned types, with the ground floor featuring king mullions. There is a six-light window and a doorway with a finely cyma moulded surround, which is topped with an altered lintel. On the first floor, there are five-light windows on either side of a six-light window. A continuous string course rises to a peak over the doorway, indicating that there was once a porch that has since been removed. The gables are coped and have moulded kneelers.
At the rear, there is a kitchen wing that includes double chamfered mullioned windows with two lights and four lights. The house has four stacks along the ridge.
