Description
The farm buildings located to the south-east of York House date from the early 19th century and consist of barn and byre ranges, each with lofts above, and an attached wheelhouse to the south of the barn. They are constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and feature pantiled roofs with stone copings and a chimney stack. The buildings are single storey with lofts, comprising four bays for the byre and three bays for the barn, while the engine house is also single storey. The north front has four rebated boarded doors, along with additional doors leading to the wheelhouse and loft doors above. A corniced chimney on the right gable end suggests that the building was used as a boilhouse. The wheelhouse has a pyramidal roof. These structures are included for their group value.
