Description
This is a range of farm buildings located approximately ten metres south of Red House Farm House, dating from the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed of squared sandstone with hammered lintels and feature pantile roofs. The layout is L-shaped, consisting of a two-storey, three-bay threshing barn and cartshed, alongside a one-storey, six-bay range that is positioned at right angles.
The barn has three doors: a board stable door on the left and two board doors on the right, with a partly-slatted window further to the right. All doors on the one-storey range are stable doors. At the rear of the barn, there is a segmental cart entrance made of voussoirs, which has double board doors, as well as a board door to the right. The right return features two ventilation slits with a board lifting door above. All openings are rebated, and the structure has coped gables and block kneelers.
Inside the barn, the wooden threshing floor is still intact, and there is a horse threshing machine that is in working order.
