Description
No. 1 High Street is a house located in Egton Village, dating from the 18th century with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed sandstone and features a pantile roof. The building has a central-entry plan and is two storeys high with a two-window front. The entrance consists of a 20th-century part-glazed door situated between two squat 6-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are 6-pane pivoting windows. All windows have painted stone sills and plain lintels above the ground floor openings. The left gable is coped, and there is a stack at the left end. This house is included for its group value.
