Description

REDLYNCH BLACK LANE SU 21 NW (north side) 9/195 Redwings and attached walls

II

Detached cottage with flanking garden walls. Late C18. Flemish bond brick, hipped thatched roof, brick stacks. 2-storey, 3-window front. Central 6-panelled door in moulded architrave with pediment; Sun Insurance disc in pediment, either side is 12-pane sash with louvred shutters, flat arches. First floor has three 12- pane sashes. Left return is windowless. Right return has sash and casement and outshut with 2-light casement to dormer. Rear has door in pedimented case and 12-pane sashes. Interior said to have stairs with Tuscan newels and stick balusters, 2-panelled doors. Flanking Flemish bond brick walls attached to either side, brick coping, swept up to side walls of house.
