Description
Bohemia Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located in Redlynch. It is constructed of cob walls with a thatched roof featuring hipped and gabled ends, and has a brick gable-end stack. The original plan consisted of two rooms – a kitchen with a gable-end fireplace on the right, and a smaller, unheated room to the left. The partition between these rooms has been removed, and the kitchen now occupies a long, single-storey outbuilding attached to the right-hand end of the house.
The east-facing front has one storey and an attic. It features two small, two-light casement windows with glazing bars, and attic windows with red brick surrounds under eyebrow eaves. The central doorway has been boarded over, originally part of a small 20th-century extension that has since been demolished. The single-storey outbuilding to the right incorporates a window on its left side and a doorway on its right. The back of the house is plain, while the left side of the outbuilding has one small window with four panes.
Internally, the ground floor partition has been removed. A large kitchen fireplace with an oven remains. Original plank doors are present, and the ceiled chambers appear to be unchanged.
