Description
Back Lodge is a Grade II listed building located on the south side of Hamptworth Road in Redlynch. It was built in the early 19th century as the lodge for the back drive to Hamptworth Lodge. The structure features Flemish bond brickwork and a tiled hipped roof with brick stacks. It is designed in an L-plan and is a single-storey building with a two-window front that faces the drive. The central entrance has a six-panelled door set within a gabled porch. Flanking the door are cross windows with hexagonal-shaped panes and hipped gablets. The returns of the building include verandahs supported by rustic wooden posts, all beneath the deep eaves of the roof. A single-storey wing at the rear has a simpler design and features two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected.
