GV II

Pair of cottages, now one. Late C17. Flemish bond brick with vitrified headers, thatched roof, gable-end brick stacks. Single- storey and attic, 3 windows. Two planked doors to centre, two 3- light casements with segmental heads either side, three 3-light casements to eyebrow dormers. Right return is windowless. Left return in English bond brick, one 2-light casement to ground floor. Rear has two planked doors, two 2-light casements to ground floor and to eyebrow dormers, two dormers with blocked wooden mullioned windows. Interior has blocked open fireplaces with chamfered lintels, chamfered beams with jewel stops, timber-framed partitions, two winding stairs, the south ones added C18 when cottage divided. The original stairs have hand rail with splat balusters and newel with multi-faceted finial.
