Description
Hill Cross is a cottage with timber-framed origins, featuring 18th-century recladding and a mid-19th century rear wing. The walls are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, while the rear wing uses Flemish Garden Wall bond. The roofs are tiled, with the original part having a half-hipped design and a catslide at the rear, along with gabled dormers that have cills at eaves level; the rear wing is taller. The north-west front elevation has one storey and an attic with three windows, which are casements. There is a large traditional brick porch from the early 20th century. The rear wing is two storeys high and showcases vernacular features, including a large tapered stack at the north end and a central shafted stack.
