Description
Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with significant alterations in the early 19th century and a substantial extension. The walls are of painted brickwork in a Flemish bond pattern, with some upper floors clad in tiles. The exposed timber frame is visible at the south end. The roof is tiled and hipped, with a half-hipped gable to the south side. The front of the house, which follows the slope of the land, is long, while the north side is smaller and of later construction. The north-west front has two storeys at two levels, with a two-storey and attic section with a 1-1-1 window arrangement. Sash windows are set within exposed frames on the north side, while casement windows are found elsewhere. A plain doorway is situated within a gabled porch, framed by timberwork on a low wall, while a former doorway has been filled in. A large, tapered stack is located at the south end, alongside a single-storeyed, set-back extension.
