Description
Windylow is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century and later. It is constructed of red brick and timber framing with brick infilling, and features a hipped tiled roof. The cottage is a single storey with four windows that have leaded casements. On the east side of the door, there is a 19th-century bow window with Gothic glazing bars. The east end of the building has a very large external chimney, with small leaded lights on the rear wall on either side of the fireplace. The original spits and other features are still present, although a modern brick stack has been incorporated within the old fireplace. There are also rear wings. Windylow, along with Water's Cottage and Dimmocks Cottage, forms a group of buildings of local interest.
