Description
Efford House is a Grade II* listed building located on Milford Road in Everton. Although the Victoria County History suggests it dates from 1838, its architectural style indicates it may be from around 1820 or earlier. The house is stuccoed and features wide, bracketed eaves and a hipped slate roof. It has two storeys and a south front with six windows, complemented by an iron verandah on the ground floor. Above this, there is a balcony with a hood over the three westernmost window bays, and a curved bay of three windows to the east, which has a bracket cornice and pediment. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. The west front has four windows, with the two central ones projecting under a pediment. There is a later porch added to this side. At the rear, there is an L-wing with three windows, one of which features a curved iron balcony with a hood on the first floor.
