Description
Prospect Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features some timber framing with cob infill, brick, and a thatched roof. The building is oriented with its end facing the road and consists of a three-bay structure with a short wing along the road, all at one and a half storeys high. The front has the road to the right-hand side. The right-hand bay has a swept-down hood over a plank door and a single casement window. Between the other bays, there is a 19th-century gabled porch made of slate and brick. Each side of the cottage has a two-light casement window under a segmental head. Above both bays, there is a wide eyebrow dormer with two two-light casements. At the far end, there is an outshot store. The roof is hipped with a chimney stack above the road end bay. The road end features frame and cob infill, with an eyebrow dormer at the end of the main range and a higher set dormer on the main part.
