Description

The garden wall and gateway for Lorton Park, built in the early 19th century, features a painted incised stucco wall with saddle-back coping and a taller rusticated ashlar gateway. The gateway includes a plank door set within a rusticated round-arched surround, topped by a cornice and a 20th-century lion statue. This structure is listed for its group value with the adjoining Lorton Park. The nearby slate wall is not of interest.
