Description

The Caddy tombstone, located 7 yards south of the church porch, dates from 1726 and is dedicated to Hannah Caddy. It is a monolithic stone that stands approximately 3.5 feet high and 3 feet wide, featuring a shaped top. The main inscription on the east face provides her name, date, and age, while the west face bears a second inscription in script, which reads: "Here she lies within this earthy grave whose worth deserves a tomb of gold to have yett we see those of great porchas prise must leave this world to dwell above ye sky."
