Description
Atkinson Ground House is a house from the 18th century and later, located in Coniston. It is constructed of roughcast stone and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with an additional one-storey bay added to the left gable end. There are slate dripcourses at the ground floor level. The windows include casements, some of which have wooden mullions and iron opening lights, with a fire window in the first bay.
A large gabled porch with paired doors is present, along with a lean-to outshut bay to the right. The house has a prominent tapering gable-end stack and two cross-axial stacks. The one-storey bay features large 20th-century windows and a gable-end stack. The rear of the house includes dripcourses, a gabled projecting bay, and casements, with an entrance that has a lean-to canopy.
