Description
Bracken Hall Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. The east elevation features two storeys and two irregular bays, with the second bay having been a stable in the past. On the ground floor, there is a window in the first bay with a heavy wooden frame that is chamfered on the inside, along with a similar window in the centre of the first floor. To the left of this, there is a small sashed window with single glazing bars and horns. The entrance to the first bay is marked by a gabled porch with a segmental-arched opening, while the entrance at the right end has a wide-boarded door beneath a gabled canopy. A gable-end stack is present. The rear of the cottage features a lean-to outshut, one window of which has small-paned fixed glazing with an opening light. There is also a return lean-to porch at the entrance and 20th-century casements in the first-floor windows. The right return has a blocked entrance. Inside, there are some wide-boarded doors.
