Description
Wythop Mill Cottages, which include No. 2, an adjoining cottage, and a former mill, date from the late 18th century with 19th-century alterations. The buildings feature painted roughcast over rubble walls and a graduated greenslate roof with brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys high and consist of two bays, with a right-angled extension that has two bays under a common roof, alongside the former mill, creating an overall L-shape. The cottages have plank doors and sash windows with glazing bars set in painted stone surrounds. The extension also features a plank door and sash windows with glazing bars in 19th-century chamfered surrounds. The former mill consists of two sections with plank doors in plain openings, and the front wall includes an inset GR post box.
