Description

Hill Farmhouse and the adjoining outbuilding are likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some later alterations and additions. The buildings are constructed of stone rubble, with the farmhouse being roughcast and both having slate roofs.

The southeast elevation of the farmhouse features two storeys and four bays, with the first bay likely added later. There is a drip course over the ground floor that is interrupted by a window in the second bay. The first bay has a recessed window and an entrance behind a straight-headed opening. The second bay contains paired sashed windows with single glazing bars and a fire window to the left. The fourth bay has a sashed window with vertical glazing bars and an opening light. On the first floor, the windows have pivoted upper parts, except for the first bay, which has a horizontally sliding sash with glazing bars. The entrance to the third bay is framed by a gabled porch. There is a gable-end stack and a cross-axial stack.

At the rear, there are two outshuts under catslide roofs and two wooden chamfered-mullioned windows with two lights. The interior features chamfered beams, a heck partition at the fireplace, and a plank and muntin partition with moulded muntins and two panel doors. There is a similar door leading to the stair, which has square newels and no balusters, with a winding stair leading to the first bay. The adjoining outbuilding has an opening on its northeast elevation and features a raised cruck truss.
