Description
Hill Houses Farmhouse and barn is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century. The front wall was partly rebuilt in 1945 using old materials. It is constructed from coursed gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. The building features stone gable end and ridge stacks and has two storeys with a three-bay front.
The entrance is marked by an off-centre doorcase with a large shouldered lintel. To the west, there is a two-light chamfered mullion window, while to the east, there is a 20th-century large two-light chamfered mullion window with plain sashes, followed by a four-light chamfered mullion window. Above these, there are three three-light mullion windows with a single light window positioned above the door. A large barn is attached to the east side of the farmhouse.
