Description
Bankend Farmhouse and Barn is a late 18th-century building featuring a farmhouse and barn under a continuous roof. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with quoins and has painted flush dressings. The farmhouse has a stone slate roof, while the barn has an asbestos sheet roof. Both structures have stone gable end and ridge stacks.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of two bays. On the south elevation, there is a doorcase with large jambs and a 20th-century door to the west. To the east, there are two three-light flush mullion windows. Above these, there is one similar window and a two-light mullion window. The barn extends further to the east with an advanced bay at the eastern end, which includes a blocked 18th-century doorcase to the west.
