Description

Hazelhurst Farmhouse, now a house, was built in 1678 and altered in the 18th century, with restoration work undertaken in the 1980s. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with quoins, featuring gritstone dressings and a stone slate roof. A large central stone ridge stack is present, alongside square stone eaves corbels. The farmhouse is two storeys high with two bays. It follows a lobby entrance plan. The central doorcase features flush jambs and a shouldered lintel inscribed 'SA 1678 FWMW', with a 20th-century plank door. To either side of the entrance are three-light flush mullion windows, with two similar windows above. A later window is located in the west gable end wall. A rear outshut is also present.
