Description
The mill dam with weir, sluice gate, and mill race is likely from the 19th century in its current form, although it may include earlier elements. It is constructed of stone with a cast-iron sluice gate mechanism. The structure features drystone construction that incorporates natural outcrops of rock. On the left side, the sloping weir has a wide, shallow recess that runs the full width at the top. The sluice gate on the right is operated by a cast-iron wheel that turns on a screw thread, which passes through a stone slab laid across the mill race.
