Description

Ormandy House is a house likely dating from the mid to late 18th century, situated in Crosthwaite and Lyth Church town. It is built of roughcast stone with a slate roof. The south facade has two storeys and three bays, with a two-bay outbuilding attached to the east. The facade features two dripcourses and a moulded gutter supported by brackets. The house follows a central entrance plan. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, with paired sashes in the first and third bays. A segmental-headed entrance features a key stone and a gabled canopy, sheltering a six-panel door. Gable-end stacks are present, with the western stack projecting. The outbuilding has a large entrance and a casement window on the first floor. The rear elevation features a wooden mullioned window and a round-headed stair window with small-paned glazing, where the upper glazing bars intersect.
