Description

The property is a 17th-century farmhouse, altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast rubble walls with a slate roof and end chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high. A central 6-panelled door is set within a porch of stone slabs. To the left of the door is a 12-paned window with a single opening light, and to the right, an 8-paned sash window. The upper floor has three sash windows with glazing bars.

Inside, the roof structure is substantial, featuring two levels of purlins. An entrance passage is divided by a plank and muntin partition. A late 17th-century staircase has a closed string, turned balusters, a heavy moulded handrail, and square newels. A dairy contains a blocked 17th-century window with diagonal timber mullions. Original plank floors remain on the upper floor, while the ground floors are of slate. Several original doors and some early 19th-century doors remain.
