Description

Old Hall is a pair of cottages that have been converted into one dwelling. They date from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and an enlargement in the early 20th century. The exterior is roughcast over rubble and cob, topped with a thatched roof that is half hipped to the right. A large roughcast chimney stack is positioned above the entrance, with another stack at the right gable end.

The building has a lobby entry and a three-cell plan, plus an addition. It is one and a half storeys high with three bays. The windows are 2-light pointed arches with divided tracery that rise from below the eaves. On the ground floor, there are late 20th-century 2-light leaded wooden casements, with one on the left and three to the right of the entrance, which features a plank door and a thatched hooded porch supported by pierced brackets from the 19th century. To the right, there is a single-storey thatched addition with its own roof, consisting of two bays.

Inside, the cottage features chamfered beams with step and run-out stops that run laterally, a curved stair projection at the rear, another stair beside the right gable end, and a collar and principal roof structure.
