Description

This milestone, dating from the early 19th century, is made of limestone and cast iron. It features a square-headed stone with an attached plaque that has a raised, semi-circular headed central section. The inscription reads: '13 miles to Minehead', although the word 'Minehead' is now obscured due to overgrowth and the stone being sunk into the ground. The road where this milestone is located was turnpiked in 1824.
