Description

Edbrooke Bridge is a packhorse bridge that spans the River Exe. It is possibly of medieval origin but was rebuilt in the 18th century. The bridge is constructed from local stone in random rubble, with rubble voussoirs and slate coping. It features a two-arch span with semicircular arches and a small cutwater on the upstream side only. There is likely a pebble pavement leading to a narrow pathway. The road to Winsford used to cross over the bridge until a new turnpike road was created in 1824.
