Description

Royal Oak Farmhouse is a 16th-17th century farmhouse, now a dwelling, that was largely refaced in the 19th century, with a 20th-century porch added later. The exterior is roughcast over rubble and possibly some cob, with a half-hipped slate roof and a north-facing lateral stack. The original plan likely comprised a two-cell layout with a cross passage running east to west, and was later extended with a two-cell and cross passage addition at the west end. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, featuring two-light casement windows with multiple panes. A central, gabled porch was added in the 20th century, along with a 20th-century door. Some earlier casements remain in the original block at the rear of the building, and a window is located on the left return (north front).
