Description
This is a ruined outbuilding located approximately 20 meters north of Home Farm Cottage, dating from around 1850. It is constructed of uncoursed stone rubble, with some red brick used for the openings. At the time of the survey in July 1987, the building was roofless and had a former gable-ended design, likely originally slated. The plan is rectangular, and it features a Gothic Revival style. The building is a single storey high.
On the exterior, there are two windows to the right of a left-hand doorway. These are mid-19th century wooden cross windows with octagonal-pattern glazing bars, although the left-hand window was very dilapidated at the time of the survey. To the left, there is a gabled stone porch with a brick two-centred Gothic archway. There is a window opening in the left-hand gable end, which was probably once a four-light wooden mullioned and transomed window with a segmental brick-arched head. The right-hand gable end also features a four-light wooden mullioned and transomed window. Inside, the windows have internal wooden lintels. This outbuilding is stylistically similar to the laundry wing that was added to the Home Farmhouse in 1853.
