Description
2 and 4 Kingsbridge Lane is a house, now divided into two homes with a shop and café, dating from the early 18th century. The front is rendered, with the upper storeys likely being timber-framed, and features a slate-hung top storey. The rear wall, which overlooks the River Ashburn and is visible from King's Bridge, is also slate-hung. The building has a hipped slate roof with swept eaves and a chimney on each gable end, rendered on the left and made of stone rubble on the right. It is probably double-fronted with a slightly off-centre through-passage and may be double-depth. The structure is three storeys tall and three windows wide, with the right-hand window set well apart. There are paired recessed doors between the two right-hand ground storey windows, with the door to No 2 being four-panelled. All windows are 8-paned sashes, and there is a coved eaves-cornice. A 4-paned sash window is located in the third storey of the right side wall. Although the interior was not inspected, No 4 features a ground storey cupboard with shaped shelves above and panelled doors below, along with an exposed rough-stud partition adjoining the through-passage.
