Description

No. 1 Kingsbridge Lane is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It features a rendered solid front that is lined to imitate masonry and has a slated roof that is hipped to the left. A red-brick chimney is located on the rear wall. The building stands three storeys tall and is three windows wide. It has a segmental-headed doorway and windows, all with continued hood-moulds and bracketed sills. The entrance is a four-panelled door, and the windows are two-paned sashes, with the middle ones having side sashes. A deep bracketed eaves-cornice adds to its architectural detail. The house is significant for its position, contributing to an important vista from West Street, and is included for its group value.
