Description
This barn, located about 30 metres east of Sweaton Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble and has a roof that is currently covered with corrugated asbestos, which may have originally been half-hipped. The barn is a single storey and may have had a loft at one time. On the west front facing the farmyard, there is a wide doorway with a wooden lintel, and directly opposite it on the east wall, there is a smaller doorway set high up. A ventilation slit is present in the north gable, and there is a loft door with a concrete lintel in the south gable. The roof structure was rebuilt in the 20th century. This barn is included in the listing for its group value with nearby structures.
