Description

Milestone dating from the late 18th century. It is made of granite and features a shaped top with lettering that was formerly painted. The inscription reads: "From Tavistock 2 Miles Oakhampton 18 Truro 82". This milestone is associated with the Turnpike Act of 1760, which established roads leading into Okehampton.
