Description

Milestone located at SX 505 783, dating from the late 18th century. It is made of granite and features a round-headed block with partially legible lettering that reads: "Tavistock ... Miles Oakhampton 19 Truro 53". This milestone is associated with the Turnpike Act of 1760, which pertained to the roads leading into Okehampton.
