Description
Harford Bridge is a bridge over the River Tavy, likely built in the 16th century, with some rebuilding occurring in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed from granite and metamorphic stone squared rubble, featuring granite coping on the parapet walls. The bridge has three arches, with two triangular cutwaters on each side that create refuges. The western and central arches are segmental and consist of two chamfered orders, with moulding along the inner springing of the arches. The eastern arch is of earlier construction, slightly higher, made of metamorphic stone instead of granite, and has similar mouldings. The parapet walls are about one metre high and are splayed back at each end, with a square granite pier located at the southwest.
