Description
The gate piers, boundary walls, and gate to number 48 are from the early 19th century. There are two pairs of square gate piers made of limestone ashlar, each with moulded cappings over a frieze and plinths, standing approximately 2.3 meters high overall. These piers are connected by a wall at the back of the pavement, which is about 1.2 meters high and constructed of coursed and squared limestone with saddle back coping. This wall once supported iron railings and includes a short section that connects to the adjoining property at number 50. The left-hand piers feature a small wrought iron gate, while the right-hand piers have a wide carriage opening but no gates.
