Description
No. 51 Gloucester Street is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed from squared and coursed limestone and has a concrete tile roof. The building has an L-plan shape, featuring a gable on the right and a deep wing at the back, with large cut stone gable stacks.
The house is two storeys high and has two windows. On the ground floor, there is a broad over-square sash window with two vertical bars, while the first floor has sashes without bars. The right-hand sash is located in a gabled return to the street and is set within a broad plat-band, with all windows featuring stone cills. A central 20th-century plank door is situated under a wooden lintel and is accessed by two steps. The gabled roof extends under the half-hip of the mansard roof of the adjoining property, No. 49.
