Description

The gate piers and boundary walls at Number 5 date from the 18th century. They are constructed from squared and coursed worked limestone, with the boundary wall resting on a plinth and featuring moulded coping that rises to a pair of square ashlar gate piers approximately 2.1 meters high, located opposite the entrance to the house. There is a simpler pair of gate piers at the right end that do not extend above the general height of the wall. The total length of the walls and gateways is about 25 meters, and there are modern plank gates. These walls have some architectural significance and contribute to the continuity of the street line on this side of The Green.
