Description

The Stonemason's Yard is a warehouse or store, now used as offices, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features English bond brickwork and a tile roof. This impressive three-storey building has gabled ranges that run parallel to the street. The windows are all from the 20th century and are arranged in two bays. On the second floor, there are two square openings above wide openings that are two storeys high, with segmental arches containing full-width glazing. The left opening at ground-floor level is a wide throughway. The building has brick dentil eaves, and the rear includes central loading-bay doors, with small vertical lights in the gables to the right at attic level. The interior has been substantially modified, but some light beams and timbering remain visible. The building is included in the listing mainly for its group value.
